Galaxy Lounge Armchairs By Alf Svensson & Yngvar Sandstrom Circa 1968

Pair of vintage Galaxy lounge armchairs by Alf Svensson & Yngvar Sandstrom for Dux Sweden. Designed in 1968 This pair of fresh to market Galaxy Lounge chairs are in excellent vintage condition and are on sale for the first time since they were purchased new. The seat shells are in perfect condition displaying no stress cracks. The chairs swivel as they should do with a clean and unobstructed movement. The previous owner informed me that as a child they were not allowed to spin on the chairs. The seat shell is coffee colour and the cushions are in brown fabric and in good condition. There are some very minor age related marks to the underside of the seat shells however, this does not detract from their overall great appearance. Swedish architect and furniture designer Alf Svensson worked with a range of organic materials that are today commonly associated with Scandinavian modernism. These are great chairs evoking the period of the space race and would grace any home.
