Manhattan Reclining Chair By Guy Rogers Circa 1960s
This is a classic British made chair using design influences from Scandinavia. Guy Rogers manufactured furniture in Liverpool employing designers George Fejer and Eric Pamphilon as part of their design team.
The frame is constructed from teak featuring tapering legs and arm rests and also has three recline settings. The webbing has recently been replaced. The original vinyl seat covers are showing some age related wear and tear with some minor splitting to the top of the main back cushion however, this does not detract from its overall look. The whole would benefit from reupholstering in a fabric of your choice. The frame is free from loose and wobbly joints. A great British made design classic.
What’s not to love? NB - This chair is offered for sale as a work of art. It may not comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) Safety Regulations 1988 and for that reason should not be used in a private dwelling.
